SPECIAL EVENT ON 11TH AUG 2010

Introduction of special tantra class from 11^th Aug 2010.

Every Geshe either by completing the six years course of Gelug Board examination or by completing all the courses in the monasteries must join one of the two tantric college, Gyumed or Gyutoe Tantric college for one year mandatory tantric college. In order to continue to follow the subject at monastery also, the study of tantra was auspiciously introduced this year. The inauguration ceremony of this special class was held at old prayer hall temple, and was graced by Abbot Khen Rinpoche Geshe Yonten Dhamchoe, Drepung Tripa Khensur Geshe Lobsang Tenpa, Khensur Geshe Tsultrim Phuntsok, Khensur Geshe Lobsang Samten where they stressed the importance of continuing study on tantra. The ceremony was also attended by Tulkus, learned scholars, text teachers, Geshes of the monastery. The introduction of this special class is the first ever in the three Great Seats of Buddhist Learning (Gaden, Sera and Drepung Monastery).
